 Here’s how you can apply for a new driver’s license and hence update your address with the DMV:

  1. Schedule an appointment with the DMV and visit your local DMV field office.
  2. Request a driver’s license and fill out the application for drivers license (BA-208). This form is not available online.
  3. The form requires your SSN, proof of residence and other essential information, so make sure you have all the necessary documents with you.
  4. You don’t need to pass the vision test and knowledge test. You will be required to pass the road test if your out-of-state license is expired.
