  1. Swimming pools tend to naturally lose water through evaporation, splashing by swimmers, and filter backwash. The following are signs that your swimming pool is leaking, which could be another source of water loss.

    • Dramatic reduction in water levels over a short period. This can be detected using a simple bucket test.
    • Detection of cracks – The appearance of cracks inside the pool where they weren’t before could be indicative of a possible leak and should be investigated immediately.
    • Air pockets introduced into the pool system are indicative of an opening, i.e. a leak.
    • Water bills that are too high – They could be high because you are constantly refilling the pool to keep a steady water level.
